Join me and Thomas in supporting real change, this March 3rd, as we take a plunge into the frosty waters of the historic Hudson River, in support of these great kids who have serious illnesses! Let’s support good in the world and make a difference. Help us for Penguin Plunge, Inc. This is Thomas' idea, to give back the support that was given to him about 10 years ago. Any amount helps, and all donations go to the families in need.

About 10 years ago, my son was diagnosed with a pilocytic astrocytoma brainstem tumor, which transformed him from a normal 3-year-old happy child into a handicapped kid who would no longer walk for the next year and a half, while undergoing 1 and half years of chemotherapy. Thankfully, my son is still with us today, walking, talking, laughing, and just being a typical 14-year-old child. He still has a permanent handicap with several disabilities due to the tumor, but these challeneges do not hold him back.

Thomas and our family went through our own ordeal. And throughout those times there were many organizations such as this one, the Penguin Plunge, which supported us throughout our voyage.

Penguin Plunge, Inc. is a not-for-profit registered 501(c)(3) that helps families of serious ill children in meeting their medical and support costs as they focus on their children's health. The Penguin Plunge gives people the opportunity to take a memorable dip into the icy waters of the Hudson River while raising money for a good cause. Since 2007 The Penguin Plunge has raised over $850,000 for some incredible young people.

This year, we are celebrating our 17th Annual Plunge and braving the cold for some more local families whose children are struggling with serious medical conditions. The children are Troy Murphy (15-year-old), Christopher Catalano (4-years-old), Jake Alongi (2-years-old), and Julia Sajduk (5-years-old).
